I have some availability this year for private tutoring, both in person, at my home in East Corrimal, and online. I expect to finalise my timetable by the beginning of March 2020.
I have experience working with home educated students with diverse learning needs, and their families, and I’m comfortable supporting students across all Key Learning Areas in the Australian National Curriculum. However, my strengths lie in connecting with a learner and their home educator, and devising novel ways to introduce knowledge and skills which have previously been challenging or invoked anxiety, and to extend and enrich a student’s learning where they are already enthused and confident. These activities are not always easily synchronised with outcomes and indicators in the educational syllabuses prescribed by each state and territory, but they are of immense value to students and their families, and reflect many home educators’ wish to provide learning opportunities appropriate to an individual student’s needs.
